ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 25-14 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO ALLOW A PUBLIC DANCE AT THE 4-H
BARN ON MIDWESTERN PARKWAY ON MARCH 31, 1984 .
WHEREAS, Kappa Alpha Order is sponsoring their "Springfest
' 84" on Saturday, March 31, 1984 , at the 4-H Barn on Midwestern
Parkway in Wichita Falls, beginning at 8 : 00 p.m. , and ending at
1: 00 a.m. , and the proceeds of this fund-raising event will be
used by the Muscular Dystrophy Association to benefit those
stricken by muscular dystrophy; and,
WHEREAS, the sponsors of this event have requested permission
for public dancing to be allowed at such event; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council find that the circumstances
involved in this situation are exceptional, and that a waiver of
Section 25-14 of the Code of Ordinances, which prohibits public
dances except where a license has been issued, should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS , THAT:
The requirements of Section 25-14 of the Code of Ordinances
are hereby waived to allow public dancing without a license at
such event at the 4-H Barn on Midwestern Parkway on March 31 , 1984 .
