RESOLUTION EXPRESSING CITY OF WICHITA FALLS
DESIRE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE AREA REQUESTING
DESIGNATION AS AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ADMINISTRATION DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT AND
REQUESTING NORTEX REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION
TO PREPARE AN OVERALL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
PLAN FOR THIS PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, several counties in the North Texas Planning Region
as well as some cities, including Wichita Falls, have received
notification from the Economic Development Administration that
because of the high unemployment rate in the area, the area may
now be eligible for economic assistance; and,
WHEREAS, Nortex Regional Planning Commission will prepare an
Overall Economic Development Plan for the entire region if so
requested from the counties and cities within the proposed
Economic Development District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City of Wichita Falls hereby expresses its desire to be
included within the Overall Economic Development Plan prepared
for the region and requests Nortex Regional Planning Commission
to prepare said plan and submit it to the Economic Development
Administration for approval.
