Resolution setting October 11 , 1987 to officially
recognize Fire Fighters killed in the line of duty.
Whereas , the job of fire fighting is one requiring
countless hours of training and involves great risks to
the Fire Fighter, and
Whereas , in service to the City of Wichita Falls and
the citizens of this City, several Fire Fighters have lost
their lives , and
Whereas , the City wishes to officially remember and
commend the bravery displayed in the line of duty by these
Fallen Fire Fighters .
Therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Wichita Falls , Texas , that
Sunday, October 11 , 1987, be officially designated
as the day of Recognition for the Fallen Fire Fighters .
