RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CHANGE ORDER 1 FOR THE PROJECT
TO REMOVE SLUDGE, INTERIOR CONCRETE AND PIPING FROM
1925 IMHOFF TANK; ACCEPT THE PROJECT AS COMPLETE;
AND AUTHORIZE FINAL PAYMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has a contract with Opex, Inc.
of Olney, Texas for the removal of sludge, interior concrete and piping from
the 1925 Imhoff Tank at the River Road Wastewater Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, the original contract for the work was in the amount of
228,797.00 and the City Manager has authorized Change Order No. 1 in the amount
of $3,821 .00, bringing the new contract price to $232,618.00;
WHEREAS, previous payments in the amount of $224,221 .00 have been made
to the contractor, leaving an amount due of $8,397.00; and,
WHEREAS, the staff has inspected the work accomplished and found it
to be acceptable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Change Order 1 to the contract for the removal of sludge, interior
concrete and piping from the 1925 Imhoff Tank is hereby approved, bringing the
contract cost to $232,618.00. The project is accepted, and the City Manager is
authorized to make a final payment to the contractor, Opex, Inc. , in the amount of
8,397.00.
