RESOLUTION APPROVING PUBLIC SALE BY WICHITA
COUNTY WATER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 2 OF
SURPLUS TWO ACRE TRACT OF LAND TO SAM HUNTER,
AND AUTHORIZING DEED TO WATER DISTRICT OF
CITY'S INTEREST.
WHEREAS, Wichita County Water Improvement District No. 2
acquired the hereinafter described tract of land on March 1,
1938, at a sheriff ' s sale under a judgment for delinquent taxes;
by deed dated March 23 , 1948, recorded in Volume 475, Page 231,
Wichita County Deed Records, the Water District conveyed an
undivided two-thirds interest in the land to Wichita County Water
Improvement District No. 1, whose assets are now owned by the
City of Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS, this land was used for many years, but now has
become surplus; the Water District advertised the land and sold
it to Sam Hunter for $30,101. 00, he being the highest bidder for
such land; and,
WHEREAS, in order to convey good title to the purchaser, it
is necessary for the City to convey its interest in this land to
the Water District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The sale of said tract of land by the Water District to Sam
Hunter is hereby approved. In consideration of its pro rata
share of the proceeds from such sale, the City Manager is hereby
authorized to execute for the City of Wichita Falls a deed
conveying its undivided two-thirds interest in said tract,being
the north two acres of Lot 43 of the Valley Subdivision adjoining
the City of Iowa Park, as described in the deed to Wichita County
Water Improvement District No. 1, which deed is re orded in
Volume 475, Page 231 of the Deed Records of Wichi = Coun y,
Texas, to Wichita County Water I pr•vement Dist ' •t No. .
