AWARDING BID FOR VARIOUS CONTRACTS
RELATING TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
SOFTBALL COMPLEX
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has solicited and
received bids for various contracts relating to construction of a
softball complex; and
WHEREAS, such complex is required to replace several fields
eliminated due to the Holliday Creek Flood Control Project and to
attract tourists and visitors to the city through regional and
state-wide softball tournaments; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that construction of the complex
begin as quickly as possible in order for the field to be ready
in the Spring of 1988;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section One. The bid of Smith Landscaping in the total
amount of $69,418. 66 for Phase Two of the construction of the
Softball Complex, landscaping, is hereby accepted. This shall
include the following additive alternates:
Alternate No. Description
1 Outside Fence Area
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract for
same.
Section Two. All bids received for Phase Three of a
Softball Complex are hereby rejected and City staff is hereby
authorized to redesign this phase of the project and r --bid it.
