REJECTING BIDS RECEIVED FOR PHASE ONE
OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SOFTBALL
COMPLEX RELATING TO SITE PREPARATION
AND INSTRUCTING STAFF TO RE-BID THIS
PROJECT
WHEREAS, bids have been received for site preparation
relating to the construction of a softball complex; and
WHEREAS, such bids were substantially in excess of the
estimated costs for such work; and
WHEREAS, the apparent low bidder has submitted a conditional
bid and the apparent second low bidder has submitted a base bid
which said bidder has formally notified City is above the actual
price he intended to charge City due to a possible
misinterpretation of bidding documents; and
WHEREAS, the project architect has indicated that several
options may exist to substantially reduce the cost of this phase
of the project,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; THAT:
All bids received for phase one of the construction of a
softball complex are hereby rejected and City staff is a thorized
to re-bid this project.
