RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AMENDMENT TO ENGINEERING
CONTRACT WITH SOUTHWESTERN LABORATORIES FOR
LAKE KICKAPOO DAM STABILIZATION STUDY
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and Southwestern Laboratories
entered into a contract dated August 19, 1986, whereby Southwestern Laboratories
was engaged to accomplish a study to determine means to stabilize the downstream
slope of the dam at Lake Kickapoo;
WHEREAS, during the progress of the said study, it has been determined
that the scope of the original study needs to be expanded to install certain
instrumentation and allow engineering analyses to determine the reason for
the presence of seepage water in the internal embankment of the dam; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed amendment to the
original August 19, 1986, contract between the City and Southwestern Laboratories.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The amendment to the contract between the City of Wichita Falls and
Southwestern Laboratories is hereby approved, and the City Manager is authorized
to execute the said amendment in the maximum amount of $11 ,097.50, bringing the
total cost of the contract to $32,229.50.
