RESOLUTION ON TEXANS UNITED DAY AGAINST CRIME ,
ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE.
Whereas , crime, alcohol and drug abuse are three sins
created by society; and,
Whereas , our religious faiths abhor the desecration to
the peoples of our world caused by this misuse, and are sick
at heart for the individuals and families which have suffered
from the effects of drug and alcohol abuse and the many crimes
associated with the usage of these drugs .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
On behalf of the citizens of Wichita Falls , we do resolve
to join other cities in our state in this
TEXANS UNITED DAY AGAINST
CRIME, ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE"
Originated to combat this trio of crimes against society,
and do solicit all churches and faiths to join in this battle
against these enemies common to us all .
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 6th day of January, 1987 .
