RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING NOVEMBER 11 -20,
1988 AS "BE DRUG FREE WEEK."
WHEREAS, Drug -Free North Texas, Inc. was formed to heighten
public awareness of the problems of drug abuse in our community;
and
WHEREAS, this organization has brought together concerned
leaders of government, business, education, community groups, and
Sheppard Air Force Base for the purpose of promoting a drug -free
community; and
WHEREAS, during the period from November 11 -20, 1988, an
intensive and broad -based campaign will be made to turn the tide
against the wave of drugs in our community; and
WHEREAS, the success of this campaign will depend upon the
commitment to "Be Drug Free" in the classroom, workplace, at home
or at play;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The period from November 11 -20, 1988 be proclaimed as "Be
Drug Free Week."
