RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR GRANT
APPLICATION TO GOVERNOR'S OFFICE,
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR
CRIME STOPPERS GRANT CONTINUATION.
WHEREAS, Crime Stoppers program has been active in Wichita Falls since 1981;
WHEREAS, Crime Stoppers has been responsible for the arrest of criminal
offenders, the recovery of stolen property, and confiscation of contraband in this area;
and
WHEREAS, other Crime Stoppers Programs in this area are in need of support and
assistance and grant funds are available through the Governor's Office, Criminal Justice
Division for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost for continuation of this program is $16,178,
requiring no matching funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The full support of the City Council and Police Department is behind the Crime
Stoppers program and they request the continuation of this grant project.
