RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE NAME OF THE LIBRARY
AS THE KEMP PUBLIC LIBRARY OF WICHITA FALLS.
WHEREAS, for more than 60 years the public library in
Wichita Falls has been known as the Kemp Public Library, in honor
and memory of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Kemp, who constructed the
original building, and furnished many of the books, as a gift to
the people of Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS, the City is now advertising and publicizing the
library in other areas of Texas and other states, and many people
in these other areas do not know in which City the Kemp Public
Library is located.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The name of the public library shall be the Kemp Public
Library of Wichita Falls, so that persons in other areas will
know that this library is located in our City.
