RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE
AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE ENGINEERING
CONSULTING FIRM OF CORLETT, PROBST & BOYD,
INCORPORATED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN APPLI-
ATION TO THE TEXAS WATER DEVELOPMENT BOARD FOR A
PROJECT LOAN FROM THE STATE REVOLVING LOAN FUND
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls must accomplish a number
of wastewater collection and treatment improvements in the
forseeable future to meet state and federal effluent standards;
WHEREAS, the cost of the proposed work will require a bond
issue from the Water and Sewer Fund;
WHEREAS, the federal government has established revolving
loan funds at the state level for use in funding wastewater
collection and treatment projects;
WHEREAS, the State of Texas will have low interest loans
available in fiscal year 1989 and the low interest rates can save
significant sums for the City;
WHEREAS, the application process for the State Revolving
Loan Fund is complex and requires engineering consultant
assistance to develop the necessary documents; and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to engage the engineering firm of
Corlett, Probst & Boyd for the purpose of developing the
application for the loan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to negotiate a contract with
the engineering firm of Corlett, Probst & Boyd, Incorporated for
the purpose of developing the necessary documents to apply for a
loan from the State of Texas Revolving Loan Fund. The cost of
the work shall not exceed $ 98,500.00 and the City Manager is
authorized to execute the contract upon completion of the
negotiations.
