RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PHASE I OF HOLLIDAY
CREEK SANITARY SEWER INTERCEPTOR
WHEREAS, the City intends to install a major sanitary sewer
interceptor in the widened banks of Holliday Creek extending from
approximatey Midwestern Parkway to the River Road Wastewater
Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, the Council on January 5, 1988 approved a contract
with an engineering firm for the design of the sewer line;
WHEREAS, the detailed engineering plans for the project to
widen the banks of Holliday Creek are in the final stages and
indicate that it will be most efficient and cost effective for
the City to install portions of the large sanitary sewer line
during Phase II of the Holliday Creek widening project;
WHEREAS, the estimated cost for construction of the full
length of the sanitary sewer line is $3.8 million;
WHEREAS, the staff has recommended immediate installation of
just over 1/2 of the total length, such immediate installation to
occur during Phase II of the Holliday Creek widening project;
WHEREAS, this immediate installation will be accomplished by
incorporating the work into the bidding and contract award
process of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; and,
WHEREAS, the Council does desire to proceed with the work to
install approximately 1/2 of the total length of the sanitary
sewer line during the Phase II Corps of Engineers project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to proceed to incorporate
into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers bid process and contract
award the installation of the sanitary sewer line from Lift
Station 25 (Irving Place and Midwestern Parkway) to Station
125 +00, a distance of 25,100 linear feet. An amount up to $2.1
million is authorized for this purp
