RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
ON MAY 7, 1988, FOR MAYOR, COUNCILMAN FOR DISTRICT
3, COUNCILMAN FOR DISTRICT 4 AND COUNCILMAN FOR
DISTRICT 5, AND ON AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY CHARTER.
WHEREAS, at a special meeting of the City Council of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, held in the Memorial Auditorium
building on the 11th day of May, at which time a quorum was
present, there came on to be considered the returns of the
municipal election held on the 7th day of May, 1988; and,
WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election, it
was found to be duly and legally held in all respects, and that
8,591 voters voted in said election, and that votes were cast as
follows:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Said election was in all respects legally held in
accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the
Charter and the ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls; that
Perry Goolsby was duly and legally elected Mayor; Bob Barenberg
was duly and legally elected Councilman, District 3; Ron Buffum
was duly and legally elected Councilman, District 4; Don Kirkham
was duly and legally elected Councilman, District 5; Proposition
No. 1 was approved and the Charter amendment adopted; Proposition
No. 2 was approved and the Charter amendment adopted; Proposition
No. 3 was disapproved; Proposition No. 4 was approved and the
Charter amendment adopted; Proposition No. 5 was disapproved;
Proposition No. 6 was approved and the Charter amendments
adopted; Proposition No. 7 was approved and the Charter amendment
