RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH
ENGINEERING CONSULTING FIRM FOR A
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING STUDY OF THE
FOUNDATION OF THE LAKE KICKAPOO DAM
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has previously conducted
a study on the stability of the dam at Lake Kickapoo;
WHEREAS, the study did not include an assessment of the
stability of the foundation of the dam;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to determine the strength of the
foundation in order to properly design the improvements to
accomplish the stabilization of the downstream slope of the dam;
and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed engineering
contract with the firm of Southwestern Laboratories to
investigate the foundation conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed contract with Southwestern Laboratories to
investigate the foundation conditions at the downstream toe of
the Lake Kickapoo dam is hereby approved with a maximum fee of
$13,651.00, and the City Manager is authorized toye ecute the
contract for the City.
