RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING
AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
STEERING COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Board of
Commerce and Industry, Midwestern State University and Wichita
County are concerned with the economic development of the City of
Wichita Falls and the surrounding area and met to discuss the
economic development of the City of Wichita Falls and the
surrounding area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Board of
Commerce and Industry, Midwestern State University and Wichita
County desire to continue this annual review of the economic
development of the City of Wichita Falls and the surrounding
area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. Creation
There is hereby established an Economic Development Steering
Committee to annually review the economic development of the City
of Wichita Falls and the surrounding area.
Section 2. Membership
The Economic Development Steering Committee shall consist of
the following ten members:
(1) Three representatives of the City of Wichita Falls,
including the Mayor, one City Council Member appointed
by the City Council and the City Manager
(2) County Judge of Wichita County
(3) Three members of the Executive Committee of the
Wichita Falls Board of Commerce and Industry (BCI),
including the President, Executive Vice President and
one appointee of the President
(4) Three representatives of Midwestern State University
(MSU), including the President and two appointees of
the President
Section 3. Duties and Powers of the Committee
The Economic Development Steering Committee shall at least
annually call an economic development conference composed of a
broad spectrum of representation of all citizens and industry to
review the economic development of the City of Wichita Falls and
the surrounding area and make recommendations to the City f
Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Board of Commerce and Industr ,
Midwestern State University and Wichita County regarding e o
development projects which should be un taken and fun e .
