AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH VALU-LINE OF
WICHITA FALLS, INC. FOR PROVISION OF
LONG DISTANCE SERVICE
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for proposals
to provide long distance service; and
WHEREAS, four proposals were received and evaluated in accordance
with the criteria outlined in the request for proposal; and
WHEREAS, Valu-Line of Wichita Falls has submitted the most
advantageous proposal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement
with Valu-Line of Wichita Falls, Inc. for the provision of long
distance service for a trial period of sixty days. If, during this
period, Valu-Line provides a satisfactory service, the City Manager
shall continue such service. Should the service be unsatisfactory,
the City Manager shall enter into an agreement with the firm offering
the next most advantageous proposal for a similar trial period. This
shall continue until such time as a firm meets or exceeds all City
requirements to the satisfaction of the City. The firms making
proposals are ranked as follows: Valu-Line, MCI, AT&T, and
TT Q Sprint.
