RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PARTICIPATION IN
THE TEXAS MAIN STREET PROGRAM AS A SELF -
INITIATED PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Texas Main Street Project of the Texas
Historical Commission has been created to assist cities to
develop a public /private effort to revitalize their
downtowns; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Main Street Project has established
criteria for designation as a self - initiated Main Street
Project and a program of limited assistance to qualifying
projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
WICHITA FALLS:
SECTION 1: That the City of Wichita Falls supports
and accepts the criteria for designation as a self - initiated
Main Street Project.
SECTION 2: That Midtown Now, Inc. will fund and
employ a full -time Main Street Project Manager.
SECTION 3: That the Executive Director of idtown
Now, Inc. be designated to supervise the Main S tre t Project
Manager.
