RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING GRANT APPLICATION
TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE, CRIMINAL JUSTICE
DIVISION, FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH/
PATROL PROGRAM
WHEREAS, for the past four years the Police Department
has engaged in a "Close Property Check" program under the
Neighborhood Watch /Patrol Grant co- funded by the city and
state, and
WHEREAS, this is the final year of eligibility for this
funding on an 80% (city), 20% (state) basis, as was the case
this past year, with the city's portion of this grant being
$29,623, and the state funding remaining $7,405, and
WHEREAS, if approved, this project would begin on 09-
01-89 for a one year period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to make said
grant application, for the purpose of continuing the
Neighborhood Watch /Patrol program, and he is authorized to
sign the grant agreement.
