Res 025-89 2/21/1989RESOLUTION NO. � .` RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND INCORPORATE A STATEMENT OF MISSION FOR THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the City Council to establish a Statement of Mission for the City Government on behalf of the citizens they serve; and WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of management to create a productive environment where values supportive of the Mission flourish; and WHEREAS, City Council has expressed a desire, on behalf of all citizens, that City employees extend courteous, efficient, and convenient customer service, thus, building a level of quality performance and value that will earn the respect and loyalty of all citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: There is hereby established a Statement of Mission, adopted and incorporated by the City Government of Wichita Falls. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby directs the City Manager to insure that the Statement of Mission is incorporated into the action and performance of each Department and its employees. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 21st day of February, 1989. ATTEST: J � City Clerk M AY O R THE MISSION OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF WICHITA FALLS The mission of the City is to provide those municipal services that are mandated and authorized by law, in a manner that is as efficient, capable, economical, convenient and pleasant as possible for our citizens. To accomplish our mission, the City shall: *Seek and maintain high standards of excellence in its operations, procedures and delivery of services. *Provide responsive assistance to its citizens in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner. *Maximize public /private involvement and partnership to enhance community -wide progress. *Encourage innovative ideas and input from all citizens to improve social and economic conditions in our city.
