RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT WITH ENGINEERING CONSULTING
FIRM FOR ENGINEERING REPORT ON LAKE DIVERSION DAM
WHEREAS, the City and Wichita County Water Improvement District
#2 are joint owners of Lake Diversion;
WHEREAS, the Texas Water Commission has said that the parties
must repair or rebuild the Diversion Reservoir spillway and /or dam so
that it will pass the probable maximum flood;
WHEREAS, the City desires to engage the engineering firm of Biggs
& Mathews to conduct an analysis of the Lake Diversion Dam and define
the work necessary to meet the requirements of the Texas Water
commission;
WHEREAS, the Council approved a contract on December 20, 1988
with Wichita County Water Improvement District #2 whereby the City and
District will jointly employ the engineering firm and shall each pay
one -half of the engineering fee; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed contract between the
City and District as owners of Lake Diversion Dam and the engineering
firm of Biggs & Mathews.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed contract with Biggs & Mathews is approved and the
City Manager is authorized to execute the contract. The City's share
of the cost for the basic engineering services described in the
contract shall be $14,000.00.
