RESOLUTION TO APPROVE WATER CONSERVATION PLAN
AND AUTHORIZE SUBMISSION OF THE PLAN TO THE
TEXAS WATER DEVELOPMENT BOARD
WHEREAS, the City has submitted an application to the Texas
Water Development Board for a low interest loan from the State
Revolving Loan Fund, such funds to be used for improvements to
the wastewater collection and treatment system;
WHEREAS, the City is required to submit a water conservation
plan to support the application;
WHEREAS, City Council has previously demonstrated its
awareness of and commitment to the conservation of this resource
by appointing a group of concerned and qualified citizens to
serve on a Water Resources Task Force and by charging this Task
Force to develop conservation goals and programs;
WHEREAS, the Task Force has developed such a program and has
submitted a Water Conservation Plan to the Council; and,
WHEREAS, the city Council has adjusted the plan
appropriately and now concurs with the objectives and programs
contained in the plan.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Water Conservation Plan of the City of Wichita Falls,
dated January 1989, is hereby approved for implementation, and
the staff is authorized to submit the plan to the Texas Water
Development Board. The City of Wichita Falls will submit an
annual report to the Executive Administrator of the Texas Water
Development Board to address the implementation progress, public
response, and quantitative effectiveness of the
conservation program.
