ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1, SUBSECTION (a) (9)
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW SIGNS AND OTHER
ADVERTISING DEVICES IN LUCY PARK ON JUNE 2 , 1984 .
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department will be borrowing
athletic equipment belonging to various local businesses to conduct
the "Battle of the Local Media Stars" as part of the entertainment
on June 2 , 1984 in Lucy Park, and desires to authorize certain
signs and other advertising devices in the park on that date; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances involved
in this situation are exceptional, and that the ordinance prohibiting
signs and other advertising devices in parks should be waived for
that event.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 22-1, Subsection (a) (9) of the Code of Ordinances is
hereby waived for such event in Lucy Park on June 2 , 1984 , to allow
signs and other advertising devices in the park; such signs and
other devices, and their location, must be approved by the Director
of Parks and Recreation.
