ORDINANCE REAPPROPRIATING FUNDS
BETWEEN DEPARTMENTS WITHIN THE
GENERAL FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PURCHASING STREET LIGHTS AND
ADDING REQUIRED MAINTENANCE
PERSONNEL, EQUIPMENT, AND SUPPLIES
WHEREAS, the purchase of street lights currently owned by Texas Electric
Service Company will allow the City to realize substantial continuing savings in
utility costs; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of such lights will require the addition of maintenance
personnel , equipment, and supplies; and
WHEREAS, the funds required for this purpose are currently available within
the General Fund; and
WHEREAS, the immediate purchase of the street lights and addition of required
maintenance personnel , equipment, and supplies is in the best interest of the
citizens of the City of Wichita Falls,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
THAT:
SECTION 1 . The following accounts be adjusted by the amounts shown below for
the purpose of transferring $388,400 from various Departments to the Department of
Traffic and Transportation for the purpose of purchasing street lights and adding
required maintenance personnel , equipment, and supplies:

SECTION 2. The Department of Traffic and Transportation is authorized to add two
full-time Traffic Control Technician I 's to maintain the street lights to be
purchased.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas has determined
that this action is in response to a growing public necessity, and it is an emergency
expenditure to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions which could not have, by reasonable
diligent thought and attention, been included in the original budget. The fact that
this amount will be due and that it is essential for the immediate use of the City
of Wichita Falls creates an emergency; therefore, this ordinance shall become effec-
tive immediately upon its passage.
