Ord 082-84 7/17/1984 ORDINANCE NO. f _f4L ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTIONS 4-15, 22-1 AND 22-4 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE SALE AND CONSUMPTION OF BEER, SOFT DRINKS AND PLACING OF ADVERTISING BANNERS IN LUCY PARK ON SEPTEMBER 9 , 1984 , FOR NINTH ANNUAL "CHICANO DAY AT THE PARK" . WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls American G. I . Forum and Falls Distributing Company are sponsoring the ninth annual "Chicano Day at the Park" , which generates funds for the American G . I . Forum scholarship projects, which benefit our Hispanic youths enabling them to further their education, which is the main objection of the organization; and, WHEREAS, additional funds will be generated if the sponsors are allowed to sell beer, soft drinks and food at such event; and, WHEREAS, it appears that the circumstances involved concerning this event are exceptional, and that the provisions of Sections 4-15, 22-1 and 22-4 of the Code of Ordinances should be waived. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The provisions of Sections 4-15, 22-1 and 22-4 of the Code of Ordinances are hereby waived to allow the sale and consumption of beer, soft drinks and food, and to permit the placement of advertising banners by Falls Distributing Company, in Lucy Park for the ninth annual "Chicano Day at the Park" on September 9, 1984 .
