RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PURCHASE OF CONCRETE
CYLINDER PIPE FOR UTILITY ADJUSTMENT PROJECT
TO ACCOMMODATE PHASE III OF THE HOLLIDAY
CREEK FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City must make certain utility adjustments to
accommodate Phase III of the Holliday Creek Flood Control
Project;
WHEREAS, one of the utility lines that must be relocated is
a 54" raw water line that is vital for the supply of water to the
City;
WHEREAS, this line must be relocated during the off-peak
season;
WHEREAS, there will be an unacceptable delay in delivery of
the 54" concrete cylinder pipe if the pipe is not purchased by
the City before award of bid to a Contractor; and,
WHEREAS, the City has received a price quotation from
Gifford-Hill American pipe manufacturers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to purchase the necessary
concrete cylinder pipe to relocate the 54" water line, such pipe
to be purchased from Gifford-Hill American at a cost of
77, 897 . 39 , and to supply the pipe to the successful bidding
Contractor for the relocation project.
