Ord 104-84 9/11/1984 ORDINANCE NO. gy, ORDINANCE EXTENDING ORDINANCE NO. 62-84 , WHICH SUSPENDED SECTIONS 29-147 THROUGH 29-154 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES PROVIDING FOR PARKING METERS, AND PROHIBITING PARKING FOR LONGER THAN TWO HOURS IN ANY PARKING METER SPACE. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 62-84 temporarily suspended for a period of ninety days the operation of Sections 29-147 through 29-154 of the Code of Ordinances, except insofar as they affect the 1000 Block of Lamar Street and Municipal Airport, and made it unlawful to park a vehicle for longer than two hours in any parking space theretofore designated by the City Traffic Engineer at certain periods; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is still considering the merits of this experiment, and they desire to continue it for a further period of time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1 . Ordinance No. 62-84 shall continue in full force and effect from and after the end of the ninety day period referred to therein, until such time as the City Council repeals or amends said Ordinance No. 62-84 . SECTION 2 . The fact that Ordinance No. 62-84 was enacted to allow a study of the effect of the removal of parking meters downtown, and such study has not been completed creates an emergency, and this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure which shall become effective upon its passage .
