Ord 119-84 10/16/1984 ORDINANCE NO. /If-4V ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14-71 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES , TO PROVIDE REVISED FEES FOR ELECTRICAL WORK AND SETTING A FEE RATE FOR PERMITS ISSUED OUTSIDE THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS . WHEREAS , Section 14-71 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls provides for the assessment of fees to cover the cost of administration of the City's electrical inspection and licensing program; and, WHEREAS, these fees must be revised to recoup the costs of administering such a program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: Section 14-71 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows : "Sec . 14-71 . Fees. (a) Required: Fees required by this section shall be as listed below and shall be for all new electrical work, repairs, renewals, and additions . The minimum fee for any electrical work at the same time and place shall be Ten Dollars ($10 . 00) . (b) Payment: All permit fees shall be paid at the time the permit is issued. (c) Temporary: Temporary inspection fees shall be the same as for a standard installation. (d) Reinspection: A charge of Ten Dollars ($10 . 00) will be made for each reinspection. (e) Charges: Permit fees for all new construction shall be based on the square footage of the building. This shall include all new occupancies : Assembly, Business, Educational, Hazardous, Factory-Industrial, Institutional, Mercantile, Residential and Storage . First 3 , 000 square feet 1 75 cents/per square foot All above 3 , 000 square feet . . . . 1 .00 cent/per square foot Additions to exisitng building of 1, 000 square feet or more may use the above rate for the addition and that portion of the building that is being remodeled. New storage building and shell type buildings may, with approval of the Electrical Inspector, use either the square foot rate or [the rate applied for alterations to existing services (below) ] , or a comgination of the two. The permit fees for alterations to existing services of all occupancies shall be: Meter loop: 100 amperes or less entrance equipment, each. . .$ 2 . 00 Over 100 amperes through 200 amperes 4 00 Over 200 amperes through 400 amperes 7 50 Over 400 amperes through 1, 000 amperes 10 00 Above 1, 000 amperes 20 00 Fixtures : Where fixtures, drop lights , switches or hot plugs on either open or concealed work are installed by another person than the original permit holder, inspection fees of twenty-five cents ($0 .25) each shall be charged for all such fixtures, etc. Outlets: Ceiling, each $ 0 25 Brackets 0 25 Plugs 0 25 Motors : Fractional h.p. each $ 0 50 1 h.p. and less than 2 h.p. , each 2 00 2 h.p. and less than 5 h.p. , each 3 00 5 h.p. and less than 10 h.p. , each 4 .00 10 h.p. and less than 25 h.p. , each 5 50 25 h.p. and over, each 7 50 Heaters: Dryers (electrically heated) , each $ 1 50 Water, each 1 50 Bathroom, each 0 75 Space or supplementary resistance: 0-5 K.W. , each $ 3 00 5-10 K.W. , each 4 50 10 K.W. and up, each 6 00 2 Ranges or Cooking Units: Each $ 1 . 50 Signs : Incandescent, per circuit $ 1 50 Neon, per circuit 1 .50 Transformers (not neon or low voltage) : 10 kva or less, each $ 3 .00 Over 10 kva through 20 kva, each 4 . 00 Over 20 kva, each 8 . 00 Panels : 10 circuits or less , each $ 2 .00 Over 10 circuits, each 3 .00 Generators: 25 K.W. or less $ 5 .00 Over 25 through 50 K.W. 10 . 00 Over 50 through 100 K W 20 .00 Over 100 through 200 K.W. 30 .00 Above 200 K W 40 . 00 Circuits : Circuit connection for sign, each $ 1 .50 To neon transformer, not included in permanent sign, first transformer 1 .50 Each additional transformer 0 .75 Circuit wiring only for equipment to be connected by others (in other than dwelling) . Other Electrical Work: When fees are not fixed herein, the electrical inspector shall, with board approval, set fees that are consistent with fees fixed in this section. (f) General inspection: A fee for general inspection shall be Ten Dollars ($10 . 00) . (g) Permit fees outside city limits : The standard electrical permit fees shall be doubled for permits issued outside the city limits of the City of Wichita Falls.
