Ord 132-84 11/6/1984 • f - • • ORDINANCE NO. 132-84 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7-15, PARAGRAPH THREE (3) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS TO PRO- VIDE FOR NEW BUILDING INSPECTION FEES. WHEREAS, Section `1-15 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls provides for the assessment of fees for building inspection and other related inspections; and WHEREAS, These fees must be revised to recoup the cost of Administering such a program. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: Paragraph three (3) of Section 7-15 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended_ so that it shall read as follows: " (3) Subsections (A) and (B) , fixing fees, are hereby deleted and the following substituted therefore: (A) . Schedule of Permit Fees For all buildings , structures, alterations, or repairs re- quiring a building permit, as set forth in Section 105 of the Standard Building Code, a fee shall be paid at the time of filing application, in accordance with the following Schedule: 1 . New Building or Addition '(a) Residential $ . 05 per Sq. Ft. (Single family, duplex garages, carports, out- buildings, etc. ) (b) Residential , Multifamily . per Sq. Ft. (Including hotels, motel apartments, dormitories, etc. ) (c) Business , Mercantile $. 06 per St. Ft. (d) Assembly, Educational $ . 065 per Sq. Ft. Institutional , hazardous factory, industrial , and high rise (e) Commercial Storage buildings $ . 05 per Sq. Ft. and unoccupied spaces of shell buildings (f) Minimum Fee - If the fee, based on '.costs per square foot, is less than fiftenn ( 15) dollars, . a minimum fee of fifteen ( 15) dollars will be charged. // 6 q • II. Repairs or Alterations of Existing Structures, Foundations, and completion of Shell. Buildings. (a) Up to $2,000 value $15.00 (b) $2,000 and over each $1 ,000 2. 75 (c) Construction values shall be determined by the contracted price or in cases of unusually low estimates, values may be determined by the building official using current construction values. III. Signs (a) 0 - 80 Sq. Ft. $15.00 (b) Over 80 Sq. Ft. or 30 ft. in height $25. 00 • IV. Demolition • (a) Up to 2,000 Sq. Ft. $25.00 - each building or structure (b) Over 2 , 000 Sq. Ft. Plus $ .005 per sq. ft. for each building or structure V. Swimming Pools $25 . 00 VI. Mobile Homes - Individual mobile $25. 00 homes outside of a mobile home park. VII. Re-Inspections Inspections of buildings or structures, as required by the building code shall be requested by the owner or his/ her authorized agent. Whenever the requested inspection reveals that such work is not approved by the building inspector, such work shall be rejected. After necessary corrections are made the owner or agent shall make application to the inspection department for a reinspect- ion. A fee of $15 will be charged for each reinspection. VIII. Plan Checking Fee (a) New construction, change .of occupancy or alterations of any building or structure shall require a plan Check fee in addition to the building permit fee as follows: ( 1 ) New Building or addition $. 015 per Sq. Ft. (except storage buildings) f 4I • l • • (2) .Commercial storage buildings $.005 per Sq. Ft. (3) Repair, alterations or re- $.005 per Sq. Ft. model over $5, 000 valuation or change of occupancy (com- mercial) (b) Exceptions: Plan checking fees shall not be required for the following: ( I ) One and two family dwellings (2) Assessory residential storage buildings carports, residential garages, swimming pools, signs or mobile homes. (3) The plan checking fee may be waived when, in the opinion of the building official, detailed specifications and plans are nod required. IX. Permit fees and plan checking fees must be paid by the owner or• authorized agent at the time of the filing of the application for permit. A permit fee maybe re- . funded • to the payee upon approval of the building official . X. Permit .Fees Outside of the City Limits Building permit fees (excluding plan checking fees) shall be doubled for construction outside of the City of Wichita Falls.
