ORDINANCE NO. 148-84
ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO ALLOW INTERNATIONAL KIWANIS CLUB
LOGO ON SCOREBOARD AT KIWANIS PARK DONATED BY
UNIVERSITY KIWANIS CLUB .
WHEREAS, the University Kiwanis Club has donated a scoreboard
to the City to be erected on the major league baseball field at
Kiwanis Park; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Area Baseball Association, which
has been instrumental in making improvements to the baseball field,
has requested permission to place the International Kiwanis Club
logo on such scoreboard, so that the public will know that this
club is willing to support this worthwhile program; and,
WHEREAS, it is found that the circumstances involved in this
request are exceptional, and the waiver should be granted to
Section 22-1 of the Code of Ordinances which prohibits any sign or
advertising device in any park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT :
Such provision in Section 22-1 of the Code of Ordinances is
hereby waived to allow the placing of this International Kiwanis
Club logo and the name University Kiwanis Club logo on such score-
board.
