RESOLUTION APPROVING GRANT APPLICATION
TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE
GOVERNOR'S OFFICE FOR RADIO EQUIPPED NEIGHBORHOOD
WATCH FOOT PATROL PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, through the Wichita
Falls Housing Authority, operates three low income housing
units known as Ben Donnell Homes, Zenobia Trimble I, and
Zenobia Trimble II, and
WHEREAS, there is a high incidence of personal and
property crimes as well as drug trafficking and abuse to
which residents are subjected, thus diminishing the quality
of life and the health and safety of those residents, and
WHEREAS, the residents of said housing areas and the
City of Wichita Falls wish to improve the quality of life
and reduce the risk of criminal victimization in said
housing areas,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Wichita Falls Police Department is authorized to
submit a grant request to the Criminal Justice Division of
the Governor's Office in the amount of $9, 775, and the City
Manager is authorized to sign such grant request.
