RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
TEXAS WATER DEVELOPMENT BOARD AND THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS FOR FUNDING A
FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR A FLOOD PROTECTION PLAN
FOR THE MAIN BRANCH OF PLUM CREEK.
WHEREAS, the United States Corp of Engineers have completed
a reconnaissance study for the main branch of Plum Creek
indicating a positive benefit to cost ratio for a proposed flood
control project; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and the Corp of Engineers
have committed funds to pay for the feasibility study; and,
WHEREAS, the City has agreed to commit funds or in-kind
service in the amount of $200, 000. 00 to pay for the local share
of this feasibility study; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Water De'velopment Board approved the
application for financial assistance in the amount of $100, 000.00
for the conduct of the study.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The contract between the Texas Water Development Board and
the City of Wichita Falls, Texas for financial assistance in
meeting the local responsibility of $200, 000. 00 is approved with
the maximum aid from the Texas Water Development Board set at
100, 000. 00.
