RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF
STEPHEN BACKHAUS AS SUBSTITUTE JUDGE OF THE
MUNICIPAL COURT FOR A TWO YEAR TERM.
WHEREAS, on December 6 , 1990, Jimmie Holland was appointed
as a substitute municipal court judge to fill the vacancy of
Douglas Baker; and,
WHEREAS, in order to provide adequate municipal court
judicial staffing on weekends and after hours and occasionally in
the absence of the regular municipal court judge, it is desirable
to appoint an additional substitute municipal judge; and,
WHEREAS, Stephen Backhaus has the experience and
qualifications necessary to fulfill this responsibility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Stephen Backhaus be and is hereby appointed to the position
as substitute judge of the municipal court for a two year term
effective upon the passage of this resolution.
