RESOLUTION CREATING A LOCAL
GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of the
City's relationship with its Sister City of Furstenfeldbruck,
Germany; Lawton, Oklahoma; and area local governments; and,
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the City Council's Retreat was
the creation of a citizens' committee with responsibility for
promoting the City's relationship with these other governmental
entities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby established a Local Government Relations
Committee, which shall consist of five members. Committee
members shall be appointed by the City Council, and shall be
residents of Wichita Falls. The City Council shall appoint one
of the members as chairman. The committee will meet at the call
of the chairman.
The committee shall evaluate the City's relationship with
1. Sister City of Furstenfeldbruck, Germany to promote
international relations,
2 . City of Lawton, Oklahoma to further the growth and
development of the area influenced by Wichita Falls
and Lawton,
3 . Other area local governments (Iowa Park,
Burkburnett, Electra, Henrietta, Archer City,
Lakeside City) ,
and make recommendations to the City Council in an effort to
promote continued economic and industrial development and
exchange information and ideas:
