RESOLUTION TO APPROVE U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY
FOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF STREAM FLOW
AND RESERVOIR-CONTENT GAUGING STATIONS
WHEREAS, the U.S. Geological Survey operates and maintains a
series of stream flow and reservoir-content gauging stations on
the Little Wichita River watershed;
WHEREAS, the data from these stations are extremely
important to the City of Wichita Falls for the monitoring of
water flows into current reservoirs and for the planning of
future reservoirs;
WHEREAS, the City has historically shared with USGS in the
cost of operating and maintaining these stations;
WHEREAS, maintenance of the stations is a requirement of the
water-use permits from the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has considered a proposed Joint-Funding
Agreement with the USGS for the 1990-91 budget year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The said Joint-Funding Agreement is hereby approved with the
City's share of the cost to be $11,020. 00. The City Manager is
authorized to execute the agreement.
