A RESOLUTION CALLING PUBLIC HEARINGS ON AN ANNEXATION PROCEEDING
WHEREAS, the city of Wichita Falls executed an industrial non-
annexation agreement for described tract which will expire on
December 31, 1990; and,
WHEREAS, the property is no longer used for industrial purposes,
but is being marketed as general commercial property; and,
WHEREAS, the city of Wichita Falls has provided city services in
the form of water, wastewater, solid waste, and fire protection to
this area since 1976; and,
WHEREAS, the city of Wichita Falls feels it is in its best interest
to annex areas which are served by city services, and not used for
industrial activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Two public hearings shall be held before the
Wichita Falls City Council at which time all interested persons
shall be given the opportunity to be heard concerning the intention
of the city council to institute proceedings to annex the following
described tract of land:
A 25 ACRE TRACT OF LAND, MORE OR LESS, OUT OF DENTON COUNTY SCHOOL
LAND, LEAGUE 2 , BLOCKS 1 AND 12 , WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS.
SECTION 2. The city clerk is directed to give public notice of
such hearings by publishing not more than twenty (20) days nor less
than ten (10) days prior to the meeting, notices thereof one (1)
time for each hearing in a newspaper having general circulation in
the city and in the territory to be annexed.The Planning
Department is hereby directed to prepare a service plan that
provides for the extension of municipal services to the area to be
annexed.
SECTION 3. The standard annexation fee of $500 is hereby
waived.
