ORDINANCE GRANTING WAIVER OF SECTION 31-41 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW ISSUANCE OF A
TAXI CHAUFFEUR'S LICENSE TO K. T. MEDLINGER.
WHEREAS, an application for a taxi chauffeur' s license has
been made by K. T. Medlinger, a long-time resident of Iowa Park,
Texas, who moved away from Wichita County several years ago, but
who moved back to Iowa Park approximately five months ago; and,
WHEREAS, Section 31-41 of the Code of Ordinances provides
that no person shall be issued a chauffeur ' s license to drive a
taxicab, unless he shall have resided in Wichita County at least
six months consecutively next preceding the filing of his applica-
tion; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances
involved in this case are exceptional, and that a waiver should
be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
A waiver of such residence requirement in said Section 31-41
is hereby granted in favor of K. T. Medlinger, and a chauffeur' s
license shall not be denied him on this ground.
The fact that Mr. Medlinger is in need of immediate employment
creates an emergency; this ordinance is declared an emergency
measure, and shall become effective upon its passage.
