ORDINANCE NO. 47-85
ORDINANCE AMENDING EXHIBITS A AND B OF ORDINANCE
NO. 37-85 , WHICH ADOPTED A SYSTEM OF REPRESENTA-
TION BASED ON SINGLE-MEMBER DISTRICTS AND A MAYOR
AND ONE COUNCILMAN ELECTED AT-LARGE.
SECTION 1. Exhibit A of Ordinance No. 37-85 is hereby
amended by substituting the map attached to this ordinance for
the map attached to Ordinance No. 37-85 .
SECTION 2 . The field notes for District No. 1 shown on
Exhibit B of Ordinance No. 37-85 are hereby amended by deleting
the tenth call, which reads, "Thence east with old U. S . Highway
No. 287 to its point of intersection with Central Expressway, "
and substitute therefor the following:
"Thence east with old U.S . Highway No. 287 to Wolcott;
Thence south to the Wichita River;
Thence southerly with the Wichita River to its intersection
with Central Expressway. "
SECTION 3 . The field notes for District No. 2 on Exhibit
B of said ordinance are hereby amended by deleting the 12th call
which reads, "Thence north on Central Expressway to its point
of intersection with Northside Canal; " and substitute in place
thereof the following :
"Thence north on Central Expressway to its intersection
with the Wichita River;
Thence westerly and northerly with the Wichita River to a
point directly south of Wolcott Street;
Thence north to Old Iowa Park Highway at its intersection
with Wolcott;
Thence easterly with the Old Iowa Park Highway to Central
Expressway;
Thence north on Central Expressway to its intersection with
Northside Canal. "
SECTION 4 . The field notes of District No. 3 on Exhibit B
of such ordinance are hereby amended by deleting the eighth,
ninth and tenth calls which read, "Thence along Speedway Avenue
to its point of intersection with Taft Boulevard; thence along
Taft Boulevard to its point of intersection with Kell Boulevard;
thence along Kell Boulevard to its point of intersection with
Kemp Street; " and substitute therefor the following:
"Thence northerly along Speedway Avenue to its intersection
with Berkeley;
Thence north to Kell Boulevard;
Thence westerly along Kell Boulevard to its intersection
with Kemp Street. "

SECTION 5 . The field notes for District No. 4 on Exhibit
B of such ordinance are hereby amended by deleting the eighth
call which reads, "Thence northerly with Speedway Avenue to its
point of intersection with Taft Street; " and substitute therefor
the following :
"Thence northerly with Speedway to its intersection with
Berkeley;
Thence north to Kell Boulevard;
Thence easterly on Kell Boulevard to Taft. "
SECTION 6. The field notes for District No . 2 on Exhibit
B of such ordinance are hereby amended by deleting the 42nd
through 46th calls which read, "Thence west with Galveston Street
to its point of intersection with Austin Street; thence northwest
with Austin Street to its point of intersection with Fort Worth
and Denver RR; thence southwest with Fort Worth and Denver RR to
its point of intersection with Bluff Street; thence southeast with
Bluff Street to its point of intersection with Galveston Street;
thence southeast with Galveston Street -to its point of intersection
with Kell Boulevard; " and substitute therefor the following:
"Thence westerly with Galveston Street to its intersection
with Kell Boulevard. "
SECTION 7 . The field notes for District No. 4 on Exhibit B
of such ordinance are hereby amended by deleting the 17th through
20th calls, which read, "Thence easterly with Galveston Street to
its point of intersection with Bluff Street; thence northerly
along Bluff Street to its point of intersection with Fort Worth
and Denver RR Spur; thence easterly along the Fort Worth and
Denver RR Spur to its point of intersection with Austin Street;
thence southerly along Austin Street to its point of intersection
with Galveston Street. "
SECTION 8 . The field notes for District No. 3 on Exhibit B
of such ordinance are hereby amended by deleting the first two
calls as follows, "Beginning at a point in the south city limits
at its point of intersection with State Highway No. 79 ; thence in
a northeasterly direction along State Highway No. 79 to its point
of intersection with Southwest Parkway (F .M. 369) ; " and substitute
therefor the following :
"Beginning at a point in the city limits at the intersection
of State Highway No. 79 and Rathgeber Road;
Thence northeasterly along State Highway No. 79 to its
intersection with Southwest Parkway (F.M. 369) ;
Thence in a westerly direction along Southwest Parkway to
the east line of Park Place Addition;
Thence south to the southeast corner of Park Place Addition;
Thence west alon g said Addition south line to the southwest
corner of Weeks Park;
Thence north along the Weeks Park line to Southwest Parkway. "

SECTION 9. The field notes for District No. 4 on Exhibit
B of such ordinance are hereby amended by deleting the first

tute therefor the following:
