RESOLUTION DEMONSTRATING SUPPORT FOR
SENATE BILL 1340 WHICH ESTABLISHES
A STATEWIDE RECYCLING GOAL
WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature passed a comprehensive
recycling bill (SB 1340) during the 72nd legislative session; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to demonstrate support for
the concept of the bill;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council hereby supports the concept of statewide
recycling and will implement those programs and projects that
make the best use of scarce resources and are supported by the
local citizenry to assist in achieving the stated goal of 40%
reduction in the waste stream by January 1, 1994.
