Res 168-91 11/4/1991RESOLUTION NO. 168-91 A RESOLUTION CREATING AND ESTABLISHING, IN CONCERT WITH WICHITA COUNTY, A MULTI-PURPOSE EVENTS COMMITTEE AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE COMMITTEE WHEREAS, it is appropriate to examine in detail the need for and the feasibility of providing for the establishment of a Multi-Purpose Events Center; and WHEREAS, it is important to investigate and determine the possibility of County, City and private interests combining efforts to provide for a facility that can accommodate various types of events and programs for the general public; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for a committee to obtain information concerning the community need for such a facility; possible financing for the construction and operation of the Center; type and location of such a center and possible public and private support for the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The City hereby joins with Wichita County in establishing and creating a Multi-Purpose Events Committee for the express propose of examining the possibility and need for a Multi-Purpose Events Center. The Committee will consist of ten (10) members; five ( 5 ) members appointed by the County Commissioner' s Court and five (5 ) members appointed by the Wichita Falls City Council. The Committee shall be empowered to gather and examine in necessary detail the information necessary to make recommendations to the County and the City governing bodies on this subject.
