RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AMENDED WATER PURCHASE
CONTRACT WITH WICHITA VALLEY WATER SUPPLY
CORPORATION AND TO APPROVE A LEASE AGREEMENT
FOR USE OF LAKE KICKAPOO LANDS BY WICHITA
VALLEY WATER SUPPLY CORPORATION
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and Wichita Valley Water
Supply Corporation entered into a Water Purchase Contract on
March 19, 1974, and subsequently agreed to eight modifications to
the contract;
WHEREAS, both the City and the Corporation desire to change
some of the provisions of the original contract;
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Corporation approved
the new contract in their regularly scheduled meeting on July 8,
1991; and,
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Wichita Falls has
examined the contract and an accompanying lease agreement for
additional lands at Lake Kickapoo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed Water Purchase Contract between the City of
Wichita Falls and Wichita Valley Water Supply Corporation is
hereby approved. The lease agreement incorporated within the
contract for additional lands at Lake Kickapoo to be used for
operation of the Corporation water treatment plant is approved.
The City Manager is authorized to execute the lease agreement and
the contract for the City of Wichita Falls.
