RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING POLICE DEPARTMENT TO MAKE
APPLICATION FOR SECOND YEAR FUNDING OF NORTH TEXAS
REGIONAL DRUG ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE GRANT
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SIGN THE GRANT REQUEST
WHEREAS, the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task
Force Grant has proven to be an effective weapon in
combatting drug offenses in the North Texas area, and
WHEREAS, the federal government has provided funds for
continuation of drug enforcement grants for fiscal year
1991-92, and
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department would like
to continue the grant project and submit a grant application
in the amount of $406, 552 , of which 25%, or $101, 637, must
be matching cash from participating entities,
WHEREAS, the matching cash requirement will be reduced
by $7, 822 in proceeds from a state drug enforcement grant,
with sixteen entities providing equal shares of the
remaining $93 ,816 matching cash requirement, and
WHEREAS, the applicable share for the City of Wichita
Falls for participating in this grant project would be
5,863 ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Wichita Falls Police Department is authorized to
submit said grant application and the City Manager is
authorized to sign it.
