RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH
ENGINEERING FIRM FOR STUDY TO DETERMINE
COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL AND STATE WATER
QUALITY REGULATIONS.
WHEREAS, federal and state law requires the City of Wichita
Falls to meet certain standards relating to the quality of
treated water;
WHEREAS, the law prescribes the conduct of a tracer study to
determine compliance with the new regulations;
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls must develop any required
modifications to the treatment plants to meet the new standards
and be in compliance by June, 1993 ; and
WHEREAS, the staff has recommended an engineering contract
with the firm of Biggs & Mathews, Inc. to conduct the tracer
study and to develop the necessary options and cost estimates for
modifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed contract with Biggs & Mathews, Inc. to conduct
a Surface Water Treatment Rule Compliance Study is hereby
approved in the estimated amount of $58, 000 and the City Manager
is authorized to execute the contract.
