ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 20-24 OF THE CODE
ORDINANCES IN ORDER THAT THE JAYCEES MAY OPERATE
A BB GUN BOOTH AT FAMILY FUN DAY ON JUNE 29, 1985,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Jaycees desire to operate a carefully controlled
BB Gun Booth at the Family Fun Day on June 29 , 1985; and,
WHEREAS, Section 20-24 of the Code of Ordinances provides
that no air rifles shall be discharged on any public property;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances involved
in this situation are exceptional, and that such waiver should be
granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 20-24 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived
to allow the Jaycees to operate a BB gun target shooting booth at
Family Fun Day in Jaycee Park on June 29 , 1985.
The fact that Family Fun Day is scheduled 11 days after the
passage of this ordinance creates an emergency. Therefore, this
ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
