RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 18 FOR
THE RIVER ROAD WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
MODIFICATIONS AND ADDITIONS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has a contract with
Craig, Sheffield & Austin for the construction of certain
modifications and additions at the River Road Wastewater
Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify the design of the
internal electric power system to provide backup secondary
electric service to a major transformer;
WHEREAS, the proposed modifications are contained in Change
Order No. 18 with a cost of $20, 630. 33, bringing the total
contract amount, including this change order and all previously
approved change orders, to $19,476,729.76; and
WHEREAS, the staff has recommended the modifications to the
electric system to assure reliability of certain critical
components of the wastewater treatment process, thereby avoiding
the potential for violations of the discharge permits issued by
the Environmental Protection Agency and Texas Water Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Change Order No. 18 for modifications to the electric power
system at the River Road Wastewater Treatment Plant is hereby
approved in the amount of $20, 630. 33, bringing the total contract
price with this change order and all previously approved change
orders to $19,476, 729.76. The City Manager is authorized to
execute Change Order No. 18 for the City.
