RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING POLICE DEPARTMENT
TO MAKE GRANT APPLICATION TO TEXAS
COMMISSION ON ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE
FOR D.A.R.E. PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and the Wichita
Falls Police Department are vitally interested in providing
Drug Abuse Resistance Education in the public schools, and
WHEREAS, the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse
has indicated to the Police Department that funding is
available for the continuation of D.A.R.E. programs, and
WHEREAS, 95% funding for the D.A.R.E. program will be
provided by T.C.A. D.A. in the amount of $42 , 981, and 5%, or
2 , 262 will be funded through private donations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Police Department and City Manager are hereby
authorized to submit a grant request in the amount of
45, 243 for the continuation of the D.A.R.E. program in
Wichita Falls.
