Res 109-92 7/7/1992RESOLUTION NO. // fT 7 RESOLUTION TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY BY OPPOSING INITIATIVES BY THE TEXAS WATER COMMISSION TO AUTHORIZE CONNECTION OF HEAT EXCHANGERS TO THE PUBLIC POTABLE WATER SYSTEM WHEREAS, the Texas Water Commission is pursuing initiatives that will allow the connection of heat exchangers to the public water systems; WHEREAS, this initiative has been opposed vigorously by water industry professionals, health professionals and representatives from cities and utility districts across the state who believe the use of heat exchangers connected to the public water system is a cross-connection, thereby endangering the public health; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desire to express to various authorities the opposition of the people of Wichita Falls to this initiative. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The City Council of the City of Wichita Falls opposes the connection of heat exchangers to the public water supply system, and the return of used water to the public water system for consumption and use by other customers. The Council shall state its opposition in a letter to Governor Ann Richards with copies of the letter to various legislators and administrative officials of the State of Texas.
