RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CONTRACT WITH
ENGINEERING FORM OF CORRPRO COMPANIES, INC.
FOR ELECTRICAL SURVEY OF LAKE ARROWHEAD RAW
WATER TRANSMISSION PIPELINE
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has a prestressed
concrete steel cylinder pipeline to transmit raw water from Lake
Arrowhead to the City for treatment and subsequent use by the
citizens of Wichita Falls and wholesale customers;
WHEREAS, there have been several leaks on this pipeline in
recent years that have disrupted service;
WHEREAS, the leaks appear to be caused by corrosion thereby
creating a weak spot that ruptures under pumping pressure;
WHEREAS, there is in the corrosion industry an electrical
survey technique to locate areas of corrosion weakness in the
pipeline;
WHEREAS, this techinique has been recommended by the pipe
manufacturer;
WHEREAS, the City received two proposals for engineering
services to conduct the electrical survey and has elected to
obtain the services of Corrpro Companies, Inc. ; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed contract with
Corrpro Companies, Inc. for the stated purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The contract between the City of Wichita Falls and Corrpro
Companies, Inc. for the engineering services relative to an
electrical survey of the raw water transmission line from Lake
Arrowhead is hereby approved in the amount of $2• , 025. The City
Manager is authorized to execute the contract=-f the City.
