RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING POLICE DEPARTMENT TO MAKE
APPLICATION FOR THIRD YEAR FUNDING OF NORTH TEXAS
REGIONAL DRUG ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE GRANT
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO SIGN THE GRANT REQUEST
WHEREAS, the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task
Force Grant has proven to be an effective weapon in combatting
drug offenses in the North Texas area, and
WHEREAS, the federal government has provided funds for
continuation of drug enforcement grants for Fiscal Year 1992-93 ,
and
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department would like to
continue the grant project and submit a grant application in the
amount of $518, 350, of which 25%, or $129, 588, must be matching
cash from participating entities, and
WHEREAS, the matching cash requirement will be reduced by
21, 200 in proceeds from a state drug enforcement grant and by
10, 600 from the donation of four months salary of one officer by
the City of Wichita Falls, with seventeen entities providing
equal shares of the remaining $97 , 788 cash requirement, and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, is donating $10, 600 for
four months salary of one officer. The City of Wichita Falls
shall not be liable of an equal share of the remaining $97,788
cash requirement.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Wichita Falls Police Department is authorized to submit
said grant application and the City Manager is authorized to sign
it.
